Nicholas Hovda, MD

Nicolas Hovda (Idaho) received his BS in Chemistry from Westminster College and then worked as a laboratory technician at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah, researching oncogenes implicated in melanoma in the mouse model.  He graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine as an Idaho WWAMI student.  During medical school, he continued research into potential causative factors in melanoma pathogenesis. Nicholas is passionate about promoting mental wellness and addressing the shortage of access to psychiatric treatment.  Nicholas’ interests include Basque culture, traveling, hiking, basketball, dogs, real estate, and food.
