Jordan Urbanek, MD

Jordan Urbanek (Idaho) is from rural Wisconsin and received his BS in Spanish language and literature.  He then spent a year in Madrid teaching elementary students, followed by a year teaching and volunteering in his home state and in Peru. He matriculated at the University of Wisconsin for medical school where he participated in the Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine (WARM) track.  He was able to practice rural community medical care across the state.  In medical school he volunteered at a student-run clinic and has partnered with community organizations to facilitate a disaster-training scenario.  He organized the Reach out and Read program at one of his clinical sites.  He is very interested in practicing rural psychiatry. His interests include travel, culinary exploration, farming, agriculture, and literature.
