Jordan Urbanek, MD

Jordan Urbanek hails from America’s original west coast, the banks of the Mississippi River. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for his undergraduate (Spanish literature and language) and medical school training (Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine). Between the two he spent time teaching and volunteering in Spain, in Peru, and back home in rural southwestern Wisconsin. He was drawn to this program by the diversity of the training opportunities, as well as its focus on rural medicine. Fascinated by upstream determinants of health and socioeconomic impacts on wellbeing, he is interested in access to care, optimized care models, and civic engagement. His focus is on rural psychiatry. A lover of sunshine and the outdoors, Boise is a fantastic fit. Other pursuits include good travel, great books, fine food, and sound environmental practices.
