Work Experiences / Areas of Interest

Forensic Psychiatry Services of Idaho, PLLC was started in 2008 by Boise native, Camille LaCroix, MD. Dr. LaCroix completed her medical and psychiatry training at the University of Washington in Seattle. She then served as a psychiatrist in the United States Navy, where her duties included being the Director of Psychiatric Services at a military prison. She then worked in the California Department of Corrections briefly before completing her Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at University of California, Davis in Sacramento.

Dr. LaCroix moved back to Idaho in 2005 and was a staff psychiatrist at the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center for six years. She helped to start the Idaho Track of the University of Washington Psychiatry Residency Training Program and is currently the Forensic Curriculum Director for the program in addition to supervising residents in a forensic elective rotation.

Dr. LaCroix is Board Certified in both general psychiatry as well as forensic psychiatry. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. LaCroix is also a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the Private Practice Committee of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. Dr. LaCroix was elected one of the Idaho Business Review's Women of the Year in 2010.

Dr. LaCroix speaks locally and nationally on topics including suicidality, borderline personality disorder, dialectical behavior therapy, management of difficult inmates in correctional settings, and various forensic topics.

Current Clinical Work

In addition to her private forensic psychiatric practice, Dr. LaCroix provides Telepsychiatry services to underserved areas of Idaho through the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Telemedicine Program.
